How to fix the “No input detected” message that appears when a laptop connected via a docking station or USB-C cable does not display on the projector.
Steps:
- Ensure the monitor or projector is powered on and the correct input source (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) is selected.
- On the laptop keyboard, press Windows + P at the same time. The "Windows" key is the 4 little sqaures to the left of the Space bar.
- A sidebar titled Project will appear on the right side of the screen.
- Use the arrow keys to highlight Duplicate and press Enter.
- Duplicate mirrors your laptop screen to the external display.
- If set to PC screen only, the external display will remain blank
- Wait a few seconds for the signal to sync. The display should now show the laptop’s screen.
Troubleshooting
- If the screen still shows “No input detected”
- Reseat the USB-C or HDMI cable.
- Try a different cable or port.
- Restart the laptop while the external display is connected.
- If using a docking station, verify that it’s powered and white LED light is lit up on the end of the cable.
