Important:
To set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), you will need your student's Harvard-Westlake username and password.
Setup must be completed by visiting: https://login.hw.com
Step 1: Install the Okta Verify App
On your mobile device, download Okta Verify:

Android (Google Play) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.okta.android.auth&hl=en_US
Step 2: Enroll Your Device
On your laptop or desktop computer, go to https://login.hw.com.
Sign in with your student's Harvard-Westlake username and password.
In the top right, click your students name > Settings.
Under Security Methods, click Set up next to Okta Verify.
Step 3: Connect Okta Verify
A QR code will appear on your computer screen.
On your mobile device:
- Open Okta Verify.
- Tap the + sign > choose Organization Account.
- Tap Skip on "Add Account from Another Device."
- Tap Yes, Ready to Scan and scan the QR code.
- When prompted, tap Enable for biometric/passcode.
- Tap Done.
Managing Notifications
If you prefer not to receive audible or banner alerts when Okta Verify sends push notifications, you can silence the alerts while still allowing MFA to work.
On iPhone (iOS):
Go to Settings > Notifications.
Scroll down and select Okta Verify.
Toggle off Sounds or choose to only allow notifications in Notification Center without banners.
On Android:
Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications (or Notifications, depending on your phone).
Find and select Okta Verify.
Adjust notification preferences (e.g., turn off Sound or Pop-up notifications).
Okta Verify will still send silent push notifications that you can open and approve when logging in.
Security Reminder
✅ Only approve MFA requests when you initiate a
login.
❌ If you receive an unexpected push notification, do not
approve.
